Out & About
Summer Fun Scavenger Hunt
Warmer weather is finally here in Michigan! Summer is a wonderful time to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors. Whether you spend time in your own backyard, venture out to the beach, or visit the park, there are great memories to be made each and every day! One of my favorite things to do is spend time in my backyard and flower gardens. I can use all of my senses to enjoy the beauty of summer days. I can see all of the colorful flowers that come up year after year, those are called perennials. I can smell the beautiful fragrance of the roses and lavender blooms. I can hear birds chirping and bees buzzing as they move from flower to flower pollinating to keep my garden growing. I can feel the gentle breeze from the mighty oak tree that stands above my backyard and the warm rays of sunshine beaming down. Best of all, summer is a great time to enjoy a cool refreshing treat! I can taste ice cold fresh squeezed lemonade or sweet slices of watermelon. Here are some things you may see on your summer adventures. How many can you find? Which of the five senses (seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, feeling/touching) are you using to experience each thing?
